We've got answers!
Q:Our Laserjet 8150 does a great job
on plain-paper, but tends to wrinkle the
corners of envelopes. We've tried several
different brands of envelope stock, but the
printed envelope still comes out with a
wrinkled corner. What can we do about it?
A:This is a common issue on the Laserjet 5Si/8000/8100 Series and fortunately, you can make the adjustment yourself. Hewlett-Packard designed these printers with an adjustable clearance to accommodate various paper thicknesses. Envelopes are tricky because they have areas of double and triple layers of paper in their construction. Here's how to make the adjustment. Open the left-side cover and look into the printer. You are looking for two small levers, either blue or gray in color, with the outline of an envelope engraved on them. The normal position for these levers is "down." Raise them into an "up" position, then close the left-side cover and print your envelopes. |
